Telangana becomes the first state to lift lockdown completely


The state cabinet has decided to lift the lockdown completely commencing from 6 AM on Sunday. The number of corona cases in the state, the percentage of positivity has dropped significantly and the corona has come under complete control, the decision was taken after reviewing the reports provided by the medical authorities to lift the lock down to this extent. The state government also decided to completely reopen schools, colleges in Telangana on 1st July.

The Cabinet also directed the officials of all the departments to completely lift all the regulations imposed during the lockdown.
Today, CM KCR has chaired a cabinet meeting. In the meeting, state cabinet has discussed various issues including lockdown in the state, rainfall, monsoon cultivation, agriculture related seasonal issues, water lifting in Godavari, hydel power generation etc.

Telangana is the first state to lift the lockdown completely in the country without any restrictions. Probably, Telangana was the last state to impose lockdown after High Court’s serious orders.

Corona third wave in 6-8 weeks: AIIMS Chief




AIIMS Director Rajdeep Guleria said that if the Covid-19 rules were not followed properly and groups/gatherings could not be prevented, another corona wave would surely erupt in the next six or eight weeks. He suggested that people should strictly adhere to the Covid rules until at least a significant number of vaccinations have been completed.

The AIIMS chief said authorities should be alerted immediately if Covid-19 cases appear to be on the rise. And the lockdowns should be imposed immediately in such areas. Mr Guleria reiterated that there was no evidence to suggest that the third wave would have a major impact on young children.

The Indian epidemiologists say that Corona third wave was inevitable in India.  And it may occur between September and October. According to the Union Health Ministry, another 60,753 Covid positive cases were reported across the country in the last 24 hours. This brings the total number of cases registered so far to 2,98,23,546. The Central government said there are currently 7,60,019 active cases across the country.

On the other hand, another 1,647 people have died due to corona in the past 24 hours. This brings the number of corona deaths in the country to 3,85,137.

Central government orders States, UTs to expedite vaccination process


The Center has directed the States and Union Territories to expedite the Covid vaccination process in the wake of the declining number of Covid cases in the country. Vaccination is very important to prevent the spread of Covid. 

On Saturday, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla wrote a letter to the Chief Secretaries of States and Union Territories. He advised the states to be vigilant and review the Covid-19 situation from time to time as the day-to-day activities of the online process are being revived. He was asked not to be negligent in following the rules and implementing the Test-Track-Treat-Vaccinate strategy. He was suggested that a decision on whether to impose or relax sanctions should be taken only after a thorough assessment of the situation.

 He urged the states and union territories to carefully evaluate the whole process to ensure that cases are reduced  or not when resuming programs. Ajay Bhalla suggested following a five-step strategy called Covid-19 behavior, Test-Track-Treat-Vaccination and constantly monitoring Covid rules to ensure that no mistakes are made again.

In AP, curfew relaxation timings are extended

YSRCP Chief, AP CM Jagan has decided to relax curfew timings in the state. Today, Jagan decided on easing the curfew during a review meeting on Covid-19.

The CM decided to give relaxation from 6 AM to 6 PM. The sanctions will take effect June 20-30.  All shops will have to close by 5 PM. The curfew is strictly enforced from 6 PM. In the East Godavari district, the relaxation will be applicable only from 6 AM to 2 PM.

Due to the high positivity rate in the East Godavari district, the CM decided to give relaxation only in the district from 6 AM to 2 PM.  All government offices will run according to regular timings. The changes are making all employees come to the offices.

Tamil Nadu CM meets Sonia Gandhi

DMK Chief, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin is busy in Delhi. He met Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday. and he paid a courtesy call on Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Friday.

Wayanad MP, Congress Leader, Rahul Gandhi also attended the meeting.  This is his first meeting with Sonia Gandhi since taking over as Chief Minister.  The CM briefed Congress President Sonia on the welfare schemes being implemented in Tamil Nadu.

Rahul Gandhi assures to build a strong and prosperous state for the Tamil people after meeting with MK Stalin and his wife Durgavathy.

MK Stalin is meeting national leaders in a row. And he is also expected to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
